Amtrak train “Wolverine” rolls to a stop at Jackson Michigan. The Jackson station on the former Michigan Central RR is said to be one of the oldest stations in continuous use. The Victorian Italianate station was designed by Henry Gardiner and was built in 1873. The smaller building was constructed to house baggage carts in 1901. As the Michigan Central RR prospered, so did Jackson. In 1926, some 63 trains per day were carded through Jackson.
While not all the Wolverine and Blue Wter trains have new Seimans “Chargers” for power, some do.

On a pleasant August day, what’ not to like at Jackson ?
