Ely Nevada Photos from the NN Ry
Date: October 14, 2018 04:11PM
On Friday we ventured to Ely Nevada to visit the Nevada Northern Railway. This line is what is left of the old Kennecott Copper railroad that connected the pit mine west of Ely with the trancontental railroad. In its hey day the operated over 60 trains a day (both passenger and freight).
The railroad yards, shops and the line up to the pit mine comprise the current operations and collection. The preservation effort is one that many other locations would like to atchieve.
The photos that follow have been grouped into themes (1) overall location, (2) main shops and engine house, (3) trains and misc eq.
