These shots were taken from the depot area as you enter the museum. One can see how vast Nevada is in these views. Shortly after we arrived RS-3 #109 arrived to pull a train of members on their annual member's meeting down to the shops. This ALCO product was built in 1950.

On Friday we ventured to Ely Nevada to visit the Nevada Northern Railway. This line is what is left of the old Kennecott Copper railroad that connected the pit mine west of Ely with the trancontental railroad. In its hey day the operated over 60 trains a day (both passenger and freight). The railroad yards, shops and the line up to the pit mine comprise the current operations and collection.
